With close to two years of little or no travel, many are looking at 2022 as the year of the bucket list. As borders slowly start to open in a post-pandemic world, many travellers are now searching for the ultimate trip after 2 years of being close to lock down.
Going Big For The Next Trip This Year
Both older clients as well as younger travellers are feeling a sense of urgency this year, after feeling like they have lost two years of travel. For many, this means booking ‘bucket list’ trips despite higher than usual costs.
“People are desperate to get away,” says the founder of an adventure travel company. “They’ve been waiting to get back out there and are not shying away from those international destinations and big, once-in-a-lifetime adventures.”
In a survey by Expedia of 12,000 travellers in 12 countries, 43% are ready to splurge on their next trip, while 65% are planning to ‘go big’ on their next trip. This is resulting in a travel trend for exciting and extravagant trips.
